Tom Lambert

Investment Partner

Tom is drawn to founders rewiring high-stakes industries, where decades of entrenched processes are giving way to what physical and digital AI now make possible. He's particularly energised by those who embrace the complexity of these sectors and build through it.

Companies he has led investments in or supported include: Compa, Faculty, Super Payments, Tabula, Tunic Pay, and Melio

The founders who challenge my assumptions in a first meeting are usually the ones I end up wanting to back. The best conversations aren't the ones that confirm what I already think - they're the ones where I leave seeing something differently.

Tom has been investing at Phoenix Court for seven years, partnering with founders from the earliest stages of company building through to scale. He started his career at Rocket Internet, where he was part of the founding team of online farmers' market Bonativo, before moving into a growth role at HelloFresh during a period of hypergrowth. He later became an investor at Global Founders Capital, working on a number of investments including Revolut.

Growing up in an entrepreneurial household and then being part of a founding team myself gives me an appreciation for what building actually looks like day-to-day. Not the milestones, but the grind between them. That shapes how I try to show up for founders today, especially in moments where the path forward isn't obvious.

A keen pianist, amateur gardener and ever-optimistic Leeds United fan, Tom graduated from the University of Oxford in Chemistry.
